Montreal's rooftop scene runs short and intense. Most spots open in May and shut down by mid-October, which makes the four good months feel busier than they are. The list below mixes hotel rooftops with proper standalone terraces, and skews toward Old Montreal and downtown because that's where the buildings are tall enough for the view to do work. Reserve a week ahead for Friday and Saturday nights between June and August. Walk-ins do exist on weeknights and most rooftops keep a small standing area for the after-work crowd.
